TEDx University of Maryland, Baltimore

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. TEDx University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) takes its theme from the University’s mission: “To improve the human condition and serve the public good of Maryland and society at-large through education, research, clinical care, and service.” At TEDx UMB, a lineup of 10 speakers focuses on innovation, entrepreneurship, philanthropy, diversity, and communications — with topics ranging from virtual reality in medicine, to the opioid epidemic, to implicit bias in education, and more.
